As the founder and creative director of Ben Smith Studios, I am a highly skilled artist and designer with over 12 years of experience in the industry. I have collaborated with a range of notable clients and institutions, including Stella McCartney, Zac Posen, Mac Miller, and Wiz Khalifa. My bespoke, functional artwork and innovative paintings have been featured in top-tier publications such as Oprah Magazine, Vogue, US Weekly, and Esquire. With my exceptional creativity and technical skills in fine art, graphic design, photography, prototyping, production, and visual merchandising, I have a proven track record of transforming ideas into meticulously crafted finished works and complete product campaigns that exceed client expectations. I am a collaborative team player and a natural problem-solver, with a passion for delivering outstanding results.
I had the honor of collaborating with Zac Posen to create two collections of over 200 original hand-painted handbags. The first collection was created for their 2018 Resort collection and drew inspiration from abstracted butterfly prints and my geometric abstraction style. For the Rainbow collection for S/S 18, I used my unique rubber drip application to create a range of vibrant colors, which were later showcased on a full page in Oprah Magazine in June 2018. Throughout the production process, I oversaw every aspect, from the initial concept and design to the finished product, packaging, photography, video, content creation, and graphic design. The collection was a tremendous success, becoming one of the best-performing projects for the foundation and selling out completely. In addition to the main collection, I created personalized sets of handbags for high-profile celebrities such as Miley Cyrus, Rihanna, Olivia Wilde, and Ariana Grande.
RAINBOW COLLECTION S/S18
I had the privilege of collaborating with Stella McCartney's team to create exclusive pairs of shoes for London Fashion Week S/S 2019. The shoes were designed to push new boundaries with my unique rubber drip technique, resulting in eye-catching and distinctive designs. The shoes were featured at their flagship store in London before being auctioned off for charity. The success of this release led to my involvement in a second campaign for the launch of their new Dubai location. For both projects, I was given the opportunity to take on the role of Creative and Art Director, overseeing not only the design of the shoes and packaging but also the photography, videography, and social media content.
